What is Hoi An Memories?

Hoi An Memories is a spectacular outdoor show where the riverside becomes the stage. With more than 500 performers, real boats, music, light and elaborate costumes, it tells over 400 years of Hoi An's history — from a fishing village and international trading port to the lantern-lit ancient town of today.

With almost no spoken dialogue, the show is easy for international visitors to follow and enjoy. Located close to Hoi An Ancient Town, Hoi An Memories Land has also received recognition from the World Travel Awards.

Three seat classes: which one?

The auditorium holds about 3,300 seats in three classes. Tickets are not numbered within a class — you sit freely inside your own zone, so arriving early still pays off.

01 — Eco

Closest to the Stage

Uncovered seats beside and in front of the stage. Get close to the performers, costumes and expressions. The most popular option and best value.

Best for: younger travellers, groups of friends, moderate budgets

02 — High

Centre of the Auditorium

Central, elevated seats offering a wider view of the entire stage — ideal for filming and panoramic photos. Around 200 seats are covered; the rest are open-air.

Best for: guests who want the most balanced view

03 — VIP

Fully Roofed

Fully covered and separate from the other sections, with wider seats, priority check-in, cold towels, water and fruit. The best choice for extra comfort and rainy weather.

Best for: families with children, older guests, VIP groups

Which Seat Is Best?

One thing to note: Eco is the closest and most affordable option, but its lower viewing angle makes it harder to appreciate the full width of the stage. VIP is not about being closer — it offers greater comfort and a better overall view.

For international guests looking for a good balance of view, comfort and value, we usually recommend High. It offers a clear view of the entire stage without the higher price of VIP.

How to Book

Send us your date, number of adults and children, and preferred seat class. Lana (Thanh Hoa) will check availability and send you a quote for your exact date, usually within 1–2 hours during working hours (9:00 AM–4:00 PM, Vietnam time).

Please check availability with us before making any payment. Once confirmed, you can pay and receive your QR ticket immediately via WhatsApp or email. Simply show the QR code at the entrance.

Ten things to know before you go

Book 2–3 days ahead

High and VIP are limited and sell out fast at weekends and on holidays. In peak season, book a week ahead.

Remember: no show on Tuesday

Keep Tuesday free of the show in your Hoi An plan. Every other day runs at 20:00.

Arrive 16:30–17:00

So you have time for the park and the free mini shows — both already covered by your ticket.

Bring a light layer and repellent

The auditorium is open-air beside the river; late evening brings wind and mosquitoes. A light jacket and a bottle of repellent are enough.

Rainy season: always have a plan B

The stage is fully open-air. The show still runs in light rain and is only cancelled in bad weather, but October to December is the rainy season in Quang Nam — choose VIP (fully roofed) or one of the roughly 200 roofed High seats; Eco has no roof. Pack a thin rain poncho and keep an alternative activity ready for that evening.

Eat first, or take the buffet combo

20:00 is late for small children. Eat in the old town beforehand, or book the Ganh Buffet combo inside the park.

Sit higher if you want video

High and VIP frame the whole stage. Eco is lovely for close-ups but can be blocked from some angles.

Getting there from the old town

About 5–10 minutes by taxi or Grab. Everyone leaves at once after the show — book a car in advance, or walk a short way from the gate. We also run private hotel pick-up and drop-off in Hoi An on request — contact Lana (Thanh Hoa) +84 336 515 830 or info@vsidetravel.com.

Measure your child first

Children only: child tickets go by height, not age (under 1.0 m free; 1.0 m to under 1.4 m child rate; 1.4 m and above adult rate). Knowing the height lets us quote accurately.

The show clashes with lantern boats

20:00–21:00 is also the best hour for a lantern boat ride and a walk through the old town. A ticket is valid for one evening only, so if you have two evenings in Hoi An, split them. With only one evening: take the lantern boat early, around 18:00–19:15 as it gets dark, then be seated before 19:40 — the trade-off is skipping the park and the mini shows.

Frequently asked questions

What time does the show start and how long is it?

The main show starts at 20:00 every day except Tuesday and runs 60–75 minutes. The free mini shows inside the park begin around 17:00.

Does the ticket include park entry?

Yes. Every class includes entry to Hoi An Impression Theme Park, the mini shows and the main show in your chosen seat class.

Which class should I choose?

Eco for close-ups on a smaller budget, High for the full view of the stage, VIP if you travel with children or older guests, or want a roof guaranteed.

How are children charged?

Under 1.0 m free (no separate seat), from 1.0 m to under 1.4 m at the child rate, 1.4 m and above at the adult rate.

Are there English subtitles?

The show has almost no dialogue — the story is told through images, music and movement, so international guests follow it fully.

Can I still do the lantern boat after the show?

The show ends around 21:00–21:15. The old town is still alive, but the lantern boats and the best atmosphere have passed. With only one evening in Hoi An, the practical order is the lantern boat around 18:00–19:15, then your seat before 19:40, skipping the park beforehand. With two evenings, split them — each ticket is valid for one performance only.

Can large coaches reach the venue?

Yes. Since the Moon Light Bridge opened, 30–45 seat coaches can drive right up to the park at 200 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Cam Chau — convenient for larger groups.

How do I receive my ticket when booking with VSide Travel?
