Quy Nhơn · Hòn Sẹo Island · Full‑Day Trip
Clear Water, Warm Sand, Lunch from the Sea.
A boat out of Nhơn Lý fishing village across to Hòn Sẹo — snorkelling and paddleboarding over clear water, then a seafood lunch cooked on the sand from the morning’s catch.
The Experience
A whole day on Hòn Sẹo
Discover the natural beauty of Hòn Sẹo Island on this authentic island experience from Quy Nhơn. Crystal-clear water, dramatic rocky coastline, snorkelling and paddleboarding, and a freshly prepared seafood lunch — a relaxing day surrounded by nature, with a real taste of island life.
The boat leaves from Nhơn Lý, a working fishing village north of the city. Thirty minutes later you are on an island with no resorts and no shops — just a beach, clear shallows to snorkel, and a shaded spot where lunch is cooked while you swim.

Hòn Sẹo sits about 30 minutes by boat from Nhơn Lý, on the far side of the headland from Ky Co.
Hour by hour
How the day runs
Times shift a little with the weather and the tide — your host will tell you on the morning if anything moves.
-
08:30
Meet at Nhơn Lý Fishing Village
Your host meets you at the harbour, hands out life jackets and snorkel masks, and runs through the plan for the day. Come in swimwear with a towel and sunscreen.
-
09:00
Boat across to Hòn Sẹo
A short crossing past the headland and the fishing rafts. Keep the camera out — the coastline on this stretch is the reason people come back.
-
09:00 – 11:00
Swim, snorkel, try spearfishing
Free time on the island. Swim, snorkel over the shallows, take a paddleboard out, or lie on the beach and do nothing at all. The water here is clear enough to see the bottom from the surface. Ask your boatman and he will show you how the locals spearfish — gear is limited and shared, so it is something to try rather than a guaranteed catch.
-
11:00 – 13:00
Seafood lunch on the island
Lunch is prepared on the island using seafood from the surrounding waters. The menu depends on the season and what came in that morning, so expect local specialities rather than a fixed card. Tell us in advance about allergies or dietary needs and we will arrange around them.
-
13:00 – 15:00
The rest of the afternoon
More swimming and snorkelling, a walk along the rocky coastline, or a long stretch in the shade. Nothing is scheduled — the afternoon is yours.
-
15:00
Boat back to Nhơn Lý
Back across to the village, where the day ends. If you booked a car with us, your driver is waiting at the harbour.

Seafood & Snorkelling Day Trip
Before you book
Questions we get most often
No. Life jackets are provided and the snorkelling area is shallow and sheltered. Plenty of guests float in a jacket and never put their face in the water — the island itself is most of the point.
Honestly, no. Your host is Vietnamese-speaking with basic English — enough for the practical parts of the day, safety, timings and lunch, but not for long conversation. If you want a fluent English-speaking guide, tell us when you book and we will price one for you.
It depends on the season and on what the boats brought in that morning, so we do not publish a fixed menu — that would mean promising something the sea might not deliver. Expect local seafood specialities cooked simply. Vegetarian and allergy-safe alternatives are no problem with advance notice.
Yes, as a paid extra. A 7-seat car is 350.000₫ per leg — 700.000₫ for the return — charged per vehicle rather than per person, so it splits well across a group. Add it in the booking form and give us your hotel name.
No, you can book on your own — but a single guest pays 1.85× the per-person rate, because the boat, the crew and the lunch cost the same whether they carry one person or six. On many dates there is already a pair booked and we can join you to them at the normal rate instead, so message us and we will check before you pay the solo price.
Weekends are busy. Saturdays and Sundays bring a lot of boats out from Nhơn Lý and the beach fills up, so if you are picturing an island to yourself, that is not the weekend. Weekdays are a different trip — far fewer people, and you get the shallows and the shade largely to your group. If your dates are flexible, ask us and we will point you at the calmer days.
The crossing is small-boat and open sea, so we do not run it in rough conditions. If the forecast is bad we tell you as early as we can and move you to another day, or cancel with nothing owed. The calmest months are roughly March to August.
Swimwear worn under your clothes, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and cash for drinks. There is shade on the island but no shop, so bring anything you cannot do without. Waterproof phone pouches are worth it.
